Nikolay Gantchev

Program Director

Koko has been involved in tennis for the last 25 years. A native of Ruse, Bulgaria, Koko is a graduate of the Bulgarian National Sport Academy. He began his coaching career at Tennis Club Hard in Austria in 1992, where he later became director of tennis. From 1995 until 2002, Koko was working as a full time coach on the WTA tour. He is the current co-founder of the Houston Tennis Academy and works full time with the junior program.

His professional coaching experience includes:
  • Director of tennis at Tennis Club Hard, Austria - 1993-1995
  • 1995-1997 Personal coach of Sandra Dopfer, who reached a career high of No. 70 in 1996
  • 1997-1999 Personal coach of German Fed Cup player Elena Wagner, who ranked as high as No. 59 singles and No. 31 in doubles
  • Personal coach of Brie Rippner and Melissa Middleton - 1999-2002
